Indexing and Proofreading

I am a professional book indexer and proofreader. I work directly with publishers, authors, academics and project managers to create user-friendly indexes and meticulously proofread texts.
In 2015 I qualified as an indexer and then achieved Advanced Professional status with the Society of Indexers in 2017. My indexing work is mainly in the social sciences, the arts and humanities, and children’s books. Commissions in general/trade and academic non-fiction are welcomed. I am always happy to consider most subject areas aimed at the general reader.
In proofreading, I completed courses and achieved accreditation between 2017 and 2019 with both the Publishing Training Centre (PTC) and the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP). Since then I have proofread and sometimes also indexed subject specialisms as described above. Student theses also have been proofread and I am happy to consider them if the subject is within my knowledge specialisms.
